Barn Swallows

 

Barn Swallows are no strangers to the farms of rural Canada.  Nesting high in the rafters of barns and granaries in nests

 made of mud and straw, they can be a bit of a nuisance because of the mess they can make.  I tried to capture a sense of

the beauty of these little homesteaders and the feeling of the expanse of the prairies.

They are swift and delightful little bird to watch.
