"Heading Home"

Canada Geese

While on a walk last fall with my wife we came to a small lake covered with upwards to a thousand Canada Geese.

The  noise was a chorus of honkers of significant decibel.  The Geese would get louder and more chattier, then

suddenly take off in  ‘squadrons’.  Wave after wave would lift off of the lake on their migration to a distant country.

As they flew overhead I was  overwhelmed by this striking sight.  This became my inspiration for this painting,

”Heading Home”. This painting hangs in my home and recalls the memory of that October evening near my home.
