"Up From the Lake"

Woodland Caribou

The Woodland Caribou is larger than its cousin the Barrenland Caribou.  It is a truly majestic and impeccable animal.

Interestingly, both male and female caribou have antlers.  This makes it a little more difficult for the untrained eye to tell the

males from the females other than by sheer size.  The yearly migration of the caribou and their specific routes have

made them a vital staple in the diet of the Northern indigenous people.  On a bright sunny day in the early months

of the year, it is not unusual to see scenes on the northern lakes precisely like this one.

The Woodland Caribou is an absolutely beautiful species.
